Head Life is open for business.

Head Life is Live!  We are officially open for business.  I'm very excited to bring you some amazing art, watches, and other watch centric gear, as well as many other offerings I will be creating and curating over the coming months and hopefully years!

This is a labor of love, and allows me to support some amazing artists and friends from around the US, and the rest of the globe, (Sorry flat earthers).

Jokes aside.  I am happy you're here.  And if there's anything I can do, including facetime to check out a product closer, or custom jobs from the Head Life Laserworks shop.  We'll do our best to make sure you're always happy with the outcome of doing business with us.

How did I become a fan of watches?, and eventually start selling them?  I've always liked watches.  I never had the money to buy more than a $100 watch, nor did I ever see the reason to.  I have always been a fan of hip hop though, and therefore my initiation to watches, was what Tupac, and E-40 had on their wrists.  I ended up with a knock off Rolex day date when I was in 9th grade.  The thing was amazing looking to me at the time, and until someone ended up stealing it from me, it was a prized possession, even though I knew it was fake,, It's not like a 9th grader can afford, or should have a real Day Date.

After that, I had a few watches over the years.  Nothing over a couple hundred bucks, some wood watches that were made in Oregon that were really cool.  And then my good friend Darby Holm's sons started selling sneakers.  Long story short, it wasn't long before they were featured in a Forbes article for their business "Sunset Sneakers"., the boys were killing it, (Isaiah and Ezra), and due to their proximity to luxury goods, they started posting the occasional watch for sale on their channels.  At this point, I was feeling rather financially irresponsible, and I reached out to the twins, and they set me up with my first Rolex.  A PVD coated Rolex no date Submariner.

From that point on, I was hooked.  Something about having this little mechanical machine on your wrist that doesn't use batteries, and is wound by your natural movement, yet keeps time super accurately, speaks to me....  It's a bit of analog in an otherwise painfully digital world.  It's also a way to pull out your phone a few less times a day to check the time, as before this, my mantra was "Why would I need a watch, I can just pull out my phone".  Recently, I realized that I look at my phone way less now that I wear a watch.  Even if just to check the time, it then snowballs with notifications, and shiny colorful apps that create dopamine driven feedback loops.

Ok,,, I got a little off path there..  Bottom line, I started buying watches.  Maybe too many watches.  But, my original plan was just to sell them, and not necessarily do a whole brand and store.  Funny how life works out sometimes.

A little history on Head Life.  Head Life Media, was started a litte over 10 years ago in Portland, Oregon.  Originally we were doing commercials, event coverage, and documentaries, in and around the Portland Area.  Quickly, Head Life Media was recognized as a force to be reckoned with, and we were all over the country working on documentaries, and event coverage with large trade shows, such as GlassVegas, as well as Champs trade shows, BIG, DFO, and many others.  We also created some very well received documentary projects with some of the gods of glassblowing, Including Darby Holm, BUCK, Robert Mickelsen, and Banjo, just to name a few.

I'm not hanging up my hat completely when it comes to producing content, but I am definitely pivoting towards Head Life the shop with all my attention.

New art and watches will be arriving regularly, you can keep up with those drops by following us on social media, we are on Instagram and Facebook.

Again, thank you for being here, even if just to window shop, I'm glad you came.
